About These Classes

Cardio. We all need it!  It doesn't just help you lose weight and build or maintain muscle, although it certainly is good for that. Aerobic exercise, or cardio, uses repetitive contraction of large muscle groups to get your heart beating faster and is the most beneficial type of exercise for your cardiovascular system.

Regular cardio workouts can:

  • Strengthen your heart and blood vessels
  • Improve the flow of oxygen throughout your body
  • Lower your blood pressure and cholesterol
  • Reduce your risk for heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, stroke, and some kinds of cancer.

Level One

Using a low impact approach, we'll squat and lunge our way to a healthier heart in this Level One cardio class.

Level Two

Balance is one of those things you have to work on. You can be strong and stable but have poor balancing skills. In this Level Two cardio class we add balance to squats and lunges.

Level Three

Building off the previous levels, it's time to challenge the brain in new ways through movement in Level Three.
In response to COVID-19, I started these classes as an alternative to running, which I love!  After years and years of running my hips were begging for other planes of movement to be able to experience. I wanted to combine the feel good stretches from yoga with 80s and 90s aerobics.  I also wanted to work on functional hip and knee strength, balance, and correct bending form, which so many of us lack.

The result was a full body workout that made me stronger than any other thing I had done, including weight lifting and running. Doing this several times a week changed my body for the better. I had no idea I could improve so much when I started. It is an amazing leg workout, if I do say so myself. I put running aside to focus on this regimen, but once in a while I'll get out there. My heart has no problem syncing up to my moderate foot speed, making for an enjoyable run. The days following are normal, with no pain or soreness, so yay! My hips feel balanced, no longer chronically sore, I was beginning to feel like I'd end up having to replace my hips down the road if running is all I ever did for cardio. Thankfully, this cardio routine changed all that!

I can't wait for you to give it a try.
