Perhaps the single most important thing in every step you take is balanced strength in your pelvis. Muscular imbalance leads to pain, discomfort and eventual deterioration of the hip. Figuring out where your weakness is and changing that for the better should be a primary goal for sustained happiness.
These two exercises can help! The first goes right to the issue, focusing on the hip strength needed to rise up from and sit down in a chair. Once we analyze each hip independently, where differences often exist, we then work to strengthen the weaker side.
